Born from a comet that fell into a garden and having not yet lived long enough to have a biography that holds water, Niki Loroch devotes herself to sculpture, performance, and writing.
In her work, Niki prefers to adopt an in-situ approach and has no desire to justify herself on that front. Drawn to notions of non-arrival, of climax -a concept with which she maintains a toxic relationship- and of falsifications that would quite like to outgrow their own status they find reductive, she takes delight in the various activations of her pieces. The latter are often conceived as a multi-voiced orchestra that would find itself, following internal organisational problems, having to perform on opening night while being convinced it was the dress rehearsal.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from ÉCAL. lives in Lausanne, is active in several (very) emerging curatorial projects, hangs out with her girlfriends, often wonders whether to ditch this cursed sphere, thinks she’s beautiful, principled, and enjoys licking all her index fingers while imagining the smoke coming out of the ears of those who find all of this really, really unfair.
